About Us

I started out with labrador retriever's having grown up with a yellow labrador called 'Sheba' who was a pet and nothing more, she loved food and to escape from the back garden to explore the Fens alone.

After leaving school and working on a farm it was at this point I was introduced to the real work of gundogs, shooting and fieldsports in general, including some part time gamekeeping on a local farm shoot.

My first gundogs were black labrador's, but once old enough to have my own dogs and the type of shooting I was doing I realised I needed a spaniel, that's where the love affair began springer's and cockers, aside from the odd lab in to train...............besides, if you can train a spaniel, labs are easy right, being born half trained!!!!

I have been training working dogs now for over thirty years, cockers, springer's and Labrador's. They have worked in the beating line, picking up and I have shot over them while rough shooting.

I compete in Kennel Club registered Working Tests and Field Trials. I love the personality of a spaniel and enjoy the challenge of training them, they all have their own character, generally by the bucket load!

Racomitrium is the Latin for Moss. K.C registered Parsley Moss or 'Moss' as he was known was my first proper gundog, a liver and white English Springer Spaniel, hence the name. Which is where my love of spaniels began, he taught me so much and was out beating at 18 months old.

Paul is responsible for training, working the dogs in the shooting field, competing and is a Cambridgeshire Field Trial Society committee member & the Working Test Secretary for spaniels. Jo takes care of the breeding husbandry, early training and obedience.
